West
Toronto Counselling Network
The West Toronto
Counselling Network (WTCN) was born in 2002 when Margotte
Kaczanowska and Jancy King convened a large gathering of West
End counsellors and therapists to consider ways in which they
could work together and support one another. From that
initial gathering, a network was formed that has met continuously
to this day. Each member is an an independent practitioner
while enjoying the benefits of being part of a network of
colleagues.
The network meets
each month and holds an annual retreat. Members have
found that by coming to know and support one another, they
are better able to assist the clients who consult them.
Members are able to consult and refer to one another when
needed, take courses and share research, and help one another
in providing the best possible care.
Meeting together
has also provided ways for network members to be involved
in community outreach. Since its inception, the WTCN
has hosted 3 series of free community seminars at Swansea
Town Hall on a range of mental health topics included:
career planning, the experience of forgiveness, psychological
testing, energy psychology, grief and loss.
